Same Sex Marriage Celebration - SF City Hall Wedding Giveaway!

Spread the Love!

I can't stop tearing up with joy as I look at the happiness and love on the faces of gay and lesbian couples getting married throughout my wonderful state. Hooray for California! Hooray for San Francisco City Hall weddings (ahem, I was married there myself)! There's some kind of romantic bureaucracy to a city hall wedding (and to just getting your marriage license) that I love.

If you haven't taken a look at the diversity of couples getting married, I encourage you to do so here. You might be surprised at who is getting married - couples of every age, race, class, and religious and political beliefs. One couple that was wonderful to see is George Takei and Brad Altman - the latter is Devon's, let's see, step-uncle? (his dad's stepfather's son). We're going to be related to Sulu from Star Trek!

I have long wanted to photograph a same sex wedding, and now I'm hoping to get the chance many times over. To continue the celebration of this beautiful civil rights achievement, and because I love my state, love San Francisco and LOVE SF City Hall weddings, I'm giving away totally free wedding photography to a lucky couple getting married at the San Francisco Civic Center/ City Hall this summer!

The details:
-Please take a look at my work at www.jessamynharrisweddings.com to be sure it's right for you!
-This contest is open to any couple getting married at SF City Hall (or Santa Rosa City Hall - they're only 2 miles away from me, and are totally gay-marraige-supporting as well... it's just a slightly more 1970's building than the SF one) during the months of July, August, or September.
-Though I will do my best to work my schedule around your planned date, the contest is subject to my availability.
-The free wedding photography package includes shoot and travel time and expenses, online hosting of all final images, and image files on DVD for your personal usage.
-I reserve the right to cancel, change or discontinue this contest at any point before a winner is chosen, for any reason (just regular contest jargon).

(City Hall images taken by me, 2-3 years ago)

To enter!:
-Please email me (j@jessamynharris.com) your names, stories (how long you've been together, how you met, etc), City Hall wedding date (if you have one), and then a little note on why you love San Francisco; why you love California; why you want to get married at SF City Hall; OR what the new ruling means for you and your partner.
I just want to hear a little bit about you, and your feelings on these topics, so we can help spread the love... so be creative and tell me about yourselves! I want to be sure I am the right photographer for your personalities and styles.
A photo, video, or other representation is welcome, though not required, and the winners will be chosen based on whichever story catches my imagination the most, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, residency, race, etc.
-The deadline for sending me your story is the 4th of July, so email me asap! And feel free to spread the word!

I hope to work with as many LGBT and queer-sympathetic straight couples as will have me, and can't wait to start building the same sex marriage portfolio on my weddings site!

Please let me know if you have any questions about this contest, and get those entries started!

love,
Jessamyn
